Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a prevalent malignancy with high morbidity and mortality rates. Previous studies have demonstrated that interleukin (IL)-22 is involved in CRC progression; however, the exact mechanism remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects of IL-22 on CRC cell proliferation and metastasis. IL-22 levels in the serum and tissues of CRC patients were measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay was used to detect the viability of CRC (HCT116) cells treated with different IL-22 concentrations. Colony formation, Transwell invasion, and scratch assays were employed to assess the effects of IL-22 on cell proliferation, invasion, and migration. Western blotting was performed to measure the expression levels of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K), protein kinase B (AKT), p-PI3K, p-AKT, E-cadherin, matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2, MMP-9, SNAI1, and TWIST1 in HCT116 cells treated with IL-22 or a PI3K inhibitor. ELISA results showed that the expression of IL-22 was significantly increased in the serum and tissues of CRC patients compared to controls. IL-22 treatment increased cell viability and colony formation in a concentration-dependent manner and enhanced cell invasion and migration. Western blotting analysis revealed that IL-22 stimulation upregulated p-PI3K and p-AKT expression, while total PI3K and AKT levels remained unchanged. Additionally, IL-22 also decreased E-cadherin expression and increased the expression of MMP-2, MMP-9, SNAI1, and TWIST1. IL-22 activates the PI3K-AKT pathway and promotes HCT116 cell proliferation and metastasis. Targeting the regulation of the PI3K/AKT pathway may be a potential therapeutic strategy for CRC. Show less

Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) are rare but life-threatening adverse drug reactions. Conventional systemic therapies are of limited efficacy and often exhibit strong side effects. To assess the efficacy and safety of the combination treatment with a tumor necrosis factor-α antagonist adalimumab and delineate the underlying mechanisms. We evaluated the efficacy and safety of the combination therapy with adalimumab by comparing 2 treatment cohorts of SJS/TEN patients. Patient plasma samples were collected for proteomics analysis. The combination therapy with adalimumab significantly shortened the time to mucocutaneous re-epithelization and healing, with reduced side effects caused by corticosteroids. Plasma proteomic profiling showed that apolipoprotein A-IV (APOA4) was one of the most significant differentially expressed proteins. Multivariate regression analysis revealed that APOA4 level was significantly associated with prognosis parameter of SJS/TEN (P = .004), but not with disease severity score (severity-of-illness score for toxic epidermal necrolysis [SCORTEN]) (P = .118). Thus further research will be helpful to effectively incorporate APOA4 into current SCORTEN-driven protocols. The cohort size is relatively small. Both cohorts had low overall SCORTEN scores. Adalimumab in combination with corticosteroids demonstrates significant clinical benefits over corticosteroids alone in SJS/TEN patients. Inflammation and ferroptosis crosstalk complexly with immune microenvironment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), thus affecting the efficacy of immunotherapy. Herein, our aim was to identify the inflammation-associated ferroptosis (IAF) biomarkers for contributing HCC. A total of 224 intersecting DEGs identified from different inflammation- and ferroptosis-subtypes were set as IAF genes. Seven of them including ADH4, APOA5, CFHR3, CXCL8, FTCD, G6PD and PON1 were used for construction of a risk model which classified HCC patients into two groups (high and low risk). HCC patients in the high-risk group exhibited shorter survival rate and higher immune score, and were predicted to have higher respond rate in immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI) therapy. Levels of the seven genes were significantly changed in HCC tissues in comparison to adjacent tissues. After inserting the gene expression into the risk model, we found that the risk model exhibited the higher diagnostic value for distinguish HCC tissues compared each single gene. Furthermore, HCC tissues from our research group with high-risk score exhibited more cases of microsatellite instability (MSI), heavier tumour mutational burden (TMB), higher expression level of PDL1 and cells with CD8. Knockdown of APOA5 reduced HCC cell proliferation combining with elevating inflammation and ferroptosis levels. In conclusion, we considered APOA5 maybe a novel target for suppressing HCC via simultaneously elevating inflammation and ferroptosis levels, and signature constructed by seven IAF genes including ADH4, APOA5, CFHR3, CXCL8, FTCD, G6PD and PON1 can act as a biomarker for optimising the diagnosis, prognosis evaluation and immunotherapy options in HCC patients. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid β (Aβ) aggregation and neuroinflammation. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effect of isoniazid (INH) against AD. The APP/PS1 transgenic mouse model of AD was adopted. The APP/PS1 mice received oral INH (45 mg/kg/d) for 14 days. The cognitive capability was assessed by the Morris Water Maze test. Amyloid plaques and Aβ levels were determined by immunohistochemistry and ELISA assay. The dendritic spines were analyzed by DiOlistic labeling. Immunofluorescence staining was used to observe the microglia and astrocytes. The Morris Water Maze test suggested that INH administration can effectively attenuate the reference memory deficit and improve the working memory of the APP/PS1 mice compared to the untreated mice (all Isoniazid administration effectively improved cognitive performance, cleared Aβ plaques, protected dendritic synapses, and reduced innate immune cells around the Aβ plaques, suggesting that INH could be a potential drug for AD treatment. The role of plasma phospholipid arachidonic acid (AA) in the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NALFD), cirrhosis, and liver cancer remains unclear. This study aimed to determine the causality of the associations of plasma phospholipid AA with NALFD, cirrhosis, and liver cancer using Mendelian randomization analysis. Nine independent single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with plasma phospholipid AA at the genome-wide significance were used as instrumental variables. Summary-level data for three outcomes were obtained from 1) a genome-wide association study for NAFLD, 2) the UK Biobank study, and 3) the FinnGen study. The sensitivity analysis excluding the pleiotropic variant rs174547 in the FADS1 gene was performed. Estimates from different sources were combined using the fixed-effects meta-analysis method. Per standard deviation increase in AA levels, the combined odds ratio was 1.06 (95% confidence interval, 1.02-1.11; P = 0.008) for NAFLD, 1.05 (95% confidence interval, 1.01-1.09; P = 0.009) for cirrhosis, and 0.99 (95% confidence interval, 0.94-1.05; P = 0.765) for liver cancer. The associations remained stable in the sensitivity analysis excluding rs174547. This study suggests potential causal associations of high levels of plasma phospholipid AA with the risk of NAFLD and cirrhosis. Show less

Vascular endothelial growth factor receptors (VEGFRs) have emerged as the most promising anti-angiogenic therapeutic targets for the treatment of recurrent glioblastomas (GBM). However, anti-VEGF treatments led to the high proportion of non-responder patients or non lasting clinical response and the tumor progression to the greater malignant stage. To overcome these problems, there is an utmost need to develop innovative anti-angiogenic therapies. In this study, we report the development of a series of new FGFR1 inhibitors. Among them, compound 4i was able to potently inhibit FGFR1 kinase activities both in vitro and in vivo. This compound displayed strong anti-angiogenic activity in HUVECs and anti-tumor growth and anti-invasion effects in U-87MG cell line. These results emphasize the importance of FGFR1-mediated signaling pathways in GBM and reveal that pharmacological inhibition of FGFR1 can enhance the anti-tumoral, anti-angiogenic and anti-metastatic efficiency against GBM. These data support targeting of FGFR1 as a novel anti-angiogenic strategy and highlight the potential of compound 4i as a promising anti-angiogenic and anti-metastatic candidate for GBM therapy. Fusion genes are considered to be one of the major drivers behind cancer initiation and progression. Meanwhile, non-acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) pediatric patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in children had limited treatment efficacy. Hence, we developed and validated a simple clinical scoring system for predicting outcomes in non-APL pediatric patients with AML. A total of 184 non-APL pediatric patients with AML who were admitted to our hospital and an independent dataset (318 patients) from the TARGET database were included. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operation (LASSO) and Cox regression analysis were used to identify prognostic factors. Then, a nomogram score was developed to predict the 1, 3, and 5 years overall survival (OS) based on their clinical characteristics and fusion genes. The accuracy of the nomogram score was determined by calibration curves and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Additionally, an internal verification cohort was used to assess its applicability. Based on Cox and LASSO regression analyses, a nomogram score was constructed using clinical characteristics and OS-related fusion genes ( Our model based on the fusion gene is a prognostic biomarker for non-APL pediatric patients with AML. Body conformation is the most direct production index, which can fully reflect pig growth status and is closely related to critical economic traits. In this study, we conducted a genome-wide association study (GWAS) on body conformation traits in a population of 1518 Duroc × (Landrace × Yorkshire) commercial pigs. These traits included body length (BL), body height (BH), chest circumference (CC), abdominal circumference (AC), and waist circumference (WC). Both the mixed linear model (MLM) and fixed and random model circulating probability unification (FarmCPU) approaches were employed for the analysis. Our findings revealed 60 significant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with these body conformation traits in the crossbred pig population. Specifically, sixteen SNPs were significantly associated with BL, three SNPs with BH, thirteen SNPs with CC, twelve SNPs with AC, and sixteen SNPs with WC. Backfat thickness (BFT) is complex and economically important traits in the pig industry, since it reflects fat deposition and can be used to measure the carcass lean meat percentage in pigs. In this study, all 6,550 pigs were genotyped using the Geneseek Porcine 50K SNP Chip to identify SNPs related to BFT and to search for candidate genes through genome-wide association analysis in two Duroc populations. In total, 80 SNPs, including 39 significant and 41 suggestive SNPs, and 6 QTLs were identified significantly associated with the BFT. In addition, 9 candidate genes, including a proven major gene MC4R, 3 important candidate genes (RYR1, HMGA1, and NUDT3) which were previously described as related to BFT, and 5 novel candidate genes (SIRT2, NKAIN2, AMH, SORCS1, and SORCS3) were found based on their potential functional roles in BFT. The functions of candidate genes and gene set enrichment analysis indicate that most important pathways are related to energy homeostasis and adipogenesis. Finally, our data suggest that most of the candidate genes can be directly used for genetic improvement through molecular markers, except that the MC4R gene has an antagonistic effect on growth rate and carcass lean meat percentage in breeding. Our results will advance our understanding of the complex genetic architecture of BFT traits and laid the foundation for additional genetic studies to increase carcass lean meat percentage of pig through marker-assisted selection and/or genomic selection. It is well known that hypoxia and ferroptosis are intimately connected with tumor development. The purpose of this investigation was to identify whether they have a prognostic signature. To this end, genes related to hypoxia and ferroptosis scores were investigated using bioinformatics analysis to stratify the risk of lung adenocarcinoma. Hypoxia and ferroptosis scores were estimated using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database-derived cohort transcriptome profiles via the single sample gene set enrichment analysis (ssGSEA) algorithm. The candidate genes associated with hypoxia and ferroptosis scores were identified using weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA) and differential expression analysis. The prognostic genes in this study were discovered using the Cox regression (CR) model in conjunction with the LASSO method, which was then utilized to create a prognostic signature. The efficacy, accuracy, and clinical value of the prognostic model were evaluated using an independent validation cohort, Receiver Operator Characteristic (ROC) curve, and nomogram. The analysis of function and immune cell infiltration was also carried out. Here, we appraised 152 candidate genes expressed not the same, which were related to hypoxia and ferroptosis for prognostic modeling in The Cancer Genome Atlas Lung Adenocarcinoma (TCGA-LUAD) cohort, and these genes were further validated in the GSE31210 cohort. MiR-1908 is a miRNA located in the intron of the fatty acid desaturase 1 (FADS1) gene. The expression level of miR-1908 is abnormal in many diseases such as cancer. miR-1908 can inhibit the expression of at least 27 target genes by binding to the 3' untranslated region (3' UTR) of target genes. miR-1908 is involved in the biological processes of cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell apoptosis, cancer cell invasion, and metastasis. The expression of miR-1908 is regulated by 11 factors, including lncRNA HOTTIP, adipokines (TNF-α, leptin, and resistin), NF-κB, free fatty acid (FFA), cholesterol, stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD1), immune-related transcription factors (STAT1, RB1, and IRF1). The expression of miR-1908 is also affected by the anticancer drug OSW-1, growth hormone (GH), and the anticonvulsant drug sodium valproate. Fuzheng Xiaojijinzhan (FZXJJZF) decoction is an effective prescription for treating colorectal cancer liver metastasis (LMCRC). To elucidate the pharmacological mechanism of the FZXJJZF decoction therapy on LMCRC. Firstly, a network pharmacological approach was used to characterize the underlying targets of FZXJJZF on LMCRC. Secondly, LMCRC-related genes are obtained from the public database TCGA, and those genes are further screened and clustered through Mfuzz, an R package tool. Then, targets of FZXJJZF predicted by network pharmacology were overlapped with LMCRC related genes screened by Mfuzz. Meanwhile, FZJZXJF intervened in LMCRC model,epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and migration and invasion of HCT-116 cells. Thirdly, the transcriptomics data of FZJZXJF inhibited HCT-116 cells of EMT cells were overlapped with EMT database data to narrow the possible range of targets. Based on this, the potential targets and signal pathways of FZJZXJF were speculated by combining the transcriptomics data with the targets from network pharmacology-TCGA. Finally, the anti-cancer mechanism of FZXJJZF on LMCRC was verified in vitro by Real-Time PCR and Western Blot in vitro. By network pharmacological analysis, 282 ingredients and 429 potential targets of FZXJJZF were predicted. The 9268 LMCRC-related genes in the TCGA database were classified into 10 clusters by the Mfuzz. The two clustering genes with the most similar clustering trends were overlapped with 429 potential targets, and 32 genes were found, such as CD34, TRPV3, PGR, VDR, etc. In vivo experiments, FZJZXJF inhibited the tumor size in LMCRC models, and the EMT, migration, and invasion of HCT-116 also be inhibited. Intersecting transcriptomics dates with 32 target genes, it is speculated that the VDR-TGF-β signaling pathway may be an effective mechanism of FZXJJZF. Additionally, it is shown that FZXJJZF up-regulated the expression levels of VDR and E-cadherin and down-regulated the expression levels of TGF-β and Snail1 in vitro. These results confirmed that FZXJJZF plays an effective role in LMCRC mainly by inhibiting EMT phenotype via the VDR-TGF-β signaling pathway. Collectively, this study reveals the anti-LMCRC effect of FZXJJZF and its potential therapeutic mechanism from the perspective of potential targets and potential pathways. Show less

Tirzepatide (LY3298176), a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist, delivered superior glycemic control and weight loss compared with GLP-1R agonism in patients with type 2 diabetes. However, the mechanism by which tirzepatide improves efficacy and how GIP receptor (GIPR) agonism contributes is not fully understood. Here, we show that tirzepatide is an effective insulin sensitizer, improving insulin sensitivity in obese mice to a greater extent than GLP-1R agonism. To determine whether GIPR agonism contributes, we compared the effect of tirzepatide in obese WT and Glp-1r-null mice. In the absence of GLP-1R-induced weight loss, tirzepatide improved insulin sensitivity by enhancing glucose disposal in white adipose tissue (WAT). In support of this, a long-acting GIPR agonist (LAGIPRA) was found to enhance insulin sensitivity by augmenting glucose disposal in WAT. Interestingly, the effect of tirzepatide and LAGIPRA on insulin sensitivity was associated with reduced branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) and ketoacids in the circulation. Insulin sensitization was associated with upregulation of genes associated with the catabolism of glucose, lipid, and BCAAs in brown adipose tissue. Together, our studies show that tirzepatide improved insulin sensitivity in a weight-dependent and -independent manner. These results highlight how GIPR agonism contributes to the therapeutic profile of dual-receptor agonism, offering mechanistic insights into the clinical efficacy of tirzepatide. Show less

Strengthening the gut epithelial barrier is a potential strategy for management of gut microbiota-associated illnesses. Here, we demonstrate that dual-specificity phosphatase 6 (Dusp6) knockout enhances baseline colon barrier integrity and ameliorates dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colonic injury. DUSP6 mutation in Caco-2 cells enhances the epithelial feature and increases mitochondrial oxygen consumption, accompanied by altered glucose metabolism and decreased glycolysis. We find that Dusp6-knockout mice are more resistant to DSS-induced dysbiosis, and the cohousing and fecal microbiota transplantation experiments show that the gut/fecal microbiota derived from Dusp6-knockout mice also confers protection against colitis. Further culturomics and mono-colonialization experiments show that one gut microbiota member in the genus Duncaniella confers host protection from DSS-induced injury. We identify Dusp6 deficiency as beneficial for shaping the gut microbiota eubiosis necessary to protect against gut barrier-related diseases. Show less

Tripartite motif containing 16 (TRIM16) is a member of the tripartite motif protein family and functions as a potential tumor suppressor in several cancers. However, the specific function and clinical significance of TRIM16 in colorectal cancer (CRC) remains unclear. In this study, we observed that low TRIM16 expression was detected frequently in primary colorectal cancer (CRC) tissues and was closely associated with a better prognosis. Functional studies demonstrate that TRIM16 overexpression notably inhibits the metastasis abilities of CRC in vivo and in vitro. Mechanistically, our results demonstrated that TRIM16 directly bound and ubiquitinated Snail family transcriptional repressor 1 (Snail), an important transcriptional factor of the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process suppressing the EMT in CRC. Additionally, our data revealed that the inhibition effect of TRIM16 on cancer metastasis was dependent on Snail degradation. Collectively, our study is the first to report that TRIM16 plays a crucial anti-tumor role in CRC tumorigenesis. We also provided novel evidence that TRIM16 might act as a prognostic and therapeutic target to assess and inhibit CRC progression. Show less

Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) holds vast potential in agriculture. However, its applications are still limited by its low efficiency. Histone 3 lysine 9 trimethylation (H3K9me3) was identified as an epigenetic barrier for this. Histone demethylase KDM4D could regulate the level of H3K9me3. However, its effects on buffalo SCNT embryos are still unclear. Thus, we performed this study to explore the effects and underlying mechanism of KDM4D on buffalo SCNT embryos. The results revealed that compared with the IVF embryos, the expression level of KDM4D in SCNT embryos was significantly lower at 8- and 16-cell stage, while the level of H3K9me3 in SCNT embryos was significantly higher at 2-cell, 8-cell, and blastocyst stage. Microinjection of KDM4D mRNA could promote the developmental ability of buffalo SCNT embryos. Furthermore, the expression level of ZGA-related genes such as ZSCAN5B, SNAI1, eIF-3a, and TRC at the 8-cell stage was significantly increased. Meanwhile, the pluripotency-related genes like POU5F1, SOX2, and NANOG were also significantly promoted at the blastocyst stage. The results were reversed after KDM4D was inhibited. Altogether, these results revealed that KDM4D could correct the H3K9me3 level, increase the expression level of ZGA and pluripotency-related genes, and finally, promote the developmental competence of buffalo SCNT embryos. Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is one of the most common types of cancer and has a low survival rate. β-1,4-N-Acetyl galactosaminyltransferase 1 (B4GALNT1), which is involved in the synthesis of complex gangliosides, is highly expressed in the progression of various cancers. This study aimed to elucidate the biological functions of B4GALNT1 in LUAD progression and metastasis. We observed that B4GALNT1 overexpression showed enhanced cell migration and invasion in vitro, and promoted tumor metastasis, with reduced survival in mice. Mechanistically, B4GALNT1 regulated metastatic potential of LUAD through activating the JNK/c-Jun/Slug pathway, and with the form of its enzymatic activity. Clinical samples confirmed that B4GALNT1 expression was upregulated in LUAD, and B4GALNT1 was correlated with c-Jun/Slug expression, lymph node involvement, advanced clinical stage, and reduced overall survival. Collectively, our results suggest that B4GALNT1 promotes progression and metastasis of LUAD through activating JNK/c-Jun/Slug signaling, and with the form of its enzymatic activity. Show less

The aim of this study was to investigate potential genetic overlap between essential tremor and Parkinson's disease in a cohort of 825 subjects from an Eastern Chinese population. A total of 441 Parkinson's disease patients and 384 healthy controls were recruited. The MassARRAY System was used to detect three essential tremor-related single nucleotide polymorphisms. Odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidential interval (CI) were calculated to assess the relationship between polymorphisms and Parkinson's disease susceptibility. Our results demonstrated that the odds ratios of rs3794087 of SLC1A2, rs9652490 of LINGO1, and rs17590046 of PPARGC1A were 0.71 (95% CI = 0.55-0.91), 0.99 (95% CI = 0.78-1.26), and 0.88 (95% CI = 0.62-1.25), respectively. An essential tremor SNP (rs3794087 of SLC1A2) is associated with a decreased risk of PD in the Eastern Han Chinese population, while rs9652490 (LINGO1) and rs17590046 (PPARGC1A) do not show an association. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) function as a class of significant mediators in prostate cancer (PCa), and this study mainly discussed the molecular mechanism of lncRNA growth arrest-specific 5 (GAS5) in PCa progression and radiosensitivity. GAS5 and microRNA-320a (miR-320a) levels were determined by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Cell viability and migration were severally examined through 3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-y1)-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) and transwell assays. PCa cells were treated with X-ray irradiation. Gastric cancer is an important health problem, being the fifth most common cancer and the third leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Aberrant protein translation contributes to the oncogenesis and development of cancers, and upregulation of translation initiation factor eIF4A1 has been observed in several kinds of malignancies. However, the role of eIF4A1 in gastric cancer progression remains unclear. In this study, we found that the expression of eIF4A1, a component of translation initiation complex, was increased in gastric cancer. High expression of eIF4A1 was positively associated with poor tumor differentiation, late T stage, lymph node metastasis, advanced TNM stage, and poor prognosis in patients with gastric cancer. Overexpression of eIF4A1 promoted the migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells in vitro and enhanced tumor metastasis in nude mice model. Mechanism studies revealed that eIF4A1 induced epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of gastric cancer cells through driving the translation of SNAI1 mRNA. Together, these findings indicate that eIF4A1 promotes EMT and metastasis of gastric cancer and suggest that eIF4A1 is a potential target for the adjuvant therapy for gastric cancer patients. Notwithstanding the researches on biomarkers and targeted therapies in renal cell carcinomas (RCC) have made progress in the last decades, the application of the biomarkers and targeted therapy agents for RCC in clinic are restricted because of their limitation or side effects. Liver X receptors (LXRs) and the NLRP3 inflammasome have been the research hotspots in recent years. In our study, we integrated bioinformatics analysis, molecular biology experiments and biological function experiments to study the roles of LXRα and the NLRP3 inflammasome in RCC. The study demonstrated that the elevated LXRα expression is correlated with a poor prognosis in RCC. Furthermore, our study revealed the expression levels and roles of the NLRP3 inflammasome in RCC for the first time. This research demonstrated that LXRα could promote the metastasis of RCC cells by suppressing the expression of the NLRP3 inflammasome. In Brief, LXRα had the possibility to be a novel diagnostic and prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target in renal cell cancer and LXRα could regulate the metastasis of renal cell cancer via NLRP3 inflammamsome. Melanocortin-4 receptor (MC4R) plays critical roles in the regulation of various physiological processes, such as energy homeostasis, reproduction and sexual function, cardiovascular function, and other functions in mammals. Although the functions of the MC4R in fish have not been extensively studied, the importance of MC4R in regulation of piscine energy expenditure and sexual functions is emerging. Swamp eel (Monopterus albus) is an economically and evolutionarily important fish widely distributed in tropics and subtropics. We cloned swamp eel mc4r (mamc4r), consisting of a 981 bp open reading frame encoding a protein of 326 amino acids. The sequence of maMC4R was homologous to those of several teleost MC4Rs. Phylogenetic and chromosomal synteny analyses showed that maMC4R was closely related to piscine MC4Rs. qRT-PCR revealed that mc4r transcripts were highly expressed in brain and gonads of swamp eel.
