To investigate the association between combined vitamin D and N-acetylcysteine (NAC) supplementation and clinical outcomes in patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). This retrospective cohort study included 88 propensity-score-matched patients with GAD from Beidahuang Group Neuropsychiatric Hospital. Based on clinical records, patients were classified into an observation group (vitamin D3 + NAC + usual care) and a control group (usual care only). Anxiety symptoms and cognitive function were assessed using the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Automatic Thought Questionnaire (ATQ), and Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale (DAS). Serum levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D], inflammatory markers [high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6)], oxidative stress parameters [glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), superoxide dismutase (SOD)], and neurochemical markers [brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), dopamine (DA), Serotonin (5-HT), norepinephrine (NE)] were measured at baseline and week 8. Hippocampal neuroinflammation (HNF) is a key pathological feature in neurodegenerative disorders. Milk-derived exosomes, as bioactive extracellular vesicles, have underexplored potential in regulating brain neuroinflammatory responses. This study aimed to characterize desert milk exosomes (D-Exo) and investigate their neuroprotective and anti-neuroinflammatory effects in LPS-induced HNF mice model and an LPS-stimulated BV2 microglia. Exosomes were isolated from desert and non-desert milk (ND-Exo) for proteomic analysis. After pretreating BV2 cells with exosomes and stimulating with LPS, their inflammatory responses and polarization were assessed by RT-PCR. Balb/c mice were orally gavaged with D-Exo or 0.9% NaCl for 28 days before LPS injection. Cognitive function was assessed via behavioral tests, with microglial/astrocyte activation analyzed by immunofluorescence. D-Exo exhibited superior stability and a unique proteomic profile enriched with proteins linked to neuroinflammation and blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity, notably within the AMPK signaling pathway. In vitro, D-Exo shifted LPS-stimulated microglia from the M1 to the M2 phenotype. In vivo, it alleviated HNF and cognitive decline, reduced Aβ D-Exo is enriched with specific proteins, attenuates neuroinflammation and cognitive decline by regulating microglial M1/M2 polarization and AMPK pathway, highlighting its preventive potential. The gastrointestinal system is of particular importance in radiation biodosimetry because of its constant cell renewal and sensitivity to radiation-induced injury. It has been reported that total abdominal irradiation causes distant cognitive defects in a mouse model. In this study, we demonstrated that metformin alleviated the cognitive dysfunction caused by total abdominal irradiation. No neuropathological changes were observed in hippocampal tissues in control, irradiated, and irradiated plus metformin-treated groups. However, we found that metformin treatment improved the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and the phosphorylation level of cAMP response element-binding in the hippocampus from irradiated mice. Furthermore, our results revealed that metformin treatment reduced the expression of miR-34a-5p, which targets the brain-derived neurotrophic factor mRNA, in the small intestine, peripheral blood, and hippocampus. More importantly, injection of miR-34a-5p agomir inhibited the enhancement effects of metformin on the cognitive defects induced by total abdominal irradiation, as well as the enhanced expression of BNDF and the phosphorylation level of cAMP response element-binding in the hippocampus. Thus, our results provide alternative strategies for the treatment of total abdominal irradiation-induced distant cognitive impairment using metformin and further confirmed that miR-34a-5p is a potential drug target to reduce the cognitive defects caused by total abdominal irradiation. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by cognitive dysfunction that is closely associated with cholinergic system damage. Estrogen deficiency is a well-established risk factor for AD in women. Osthole (OST), a phytoestrogen with mild, bidirectional regulatory properties, has been proposed as a potential estrogen replacement. This study aimed to investigate the mechanisms by which OST ameliorates cognitive impairment. Cognitive deficits were induced in female Sprague-Dawley rats by bilateral ovariectomy (OVX), and OST was subsequently administered by oral gavage. Behavioral tests revealed that OST significantly improved learning and memory and reduced anxiety-like and depression-like behaviors in OVX rats. Angiopoietin-like protein 8 (ANGPTL8), a member of the angiopoietin-like protein (ANGPTL) family, is a physiological inhibitor of lipoprotein lipase (LPL), and plays a critical role in lipoprotein and triglyceride metabolism in response to nutritional cues. ANGPTL8 is implicated in a wide range of systemic and cellular processes and is closely associated with metabolic and cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Circulating ANGPTL8 is primarily secreted by the liver, with adipose tissue as a secondary source. Its expression is regulated by multiple transcription factors and microRNAs, and is responsive to fasting/refeeding states, hormonal signals, and stress conditions. In lipid metabolism, ANGPTL8 forms complexes with ANGPTL3 and ANGPTL4 to modulate LPL activity under fasting and feeding conditions. In glucose metabolism, ANGPTL8 plays a complex role. While some studies suggest it may improve glucose tolerance and insulin resistance, others indicate it could exacerbate glucose metabolism disorders and diabetes, or have no effect. Cardiovascular diseases are intricately linked to metabolic disorders and diseases. Increasing evidence also links ANGPTL8 to various cardiovascular pathologies, including atherosclerosis, hypertension, cardiomyopathy, cardiac hypertrophy, aortic aneurysm, and dissection. Given the strong interplay between metabolic dysregulation and CVDs, elucidating the role of ANGPTL8 in these processes is of significant interest. This review provides a balanced assessment of ANGPTL8's roles in key pathophysiological processes, highlighting its established functions in metabolism alongside its emerging involvement in CVDs. Understanding the diverse functions of ANGPTL8 in various tissues and metabolic states will lead to new opportunities for therapeutic intervention in cardiometabolic disorders. Show less

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid plaques that form complex microenvironments in the brain. However, the molecular composition of these plaques and their temporal regulation are not well defined. Here, we developed a sensitive workflow for quantitative proteomic profiling of single plaques using refined laser capture microdissection and data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry (LCM-DIA-MS). From >200 plaques and control regions in AD mouse models (5xFAD and APP-KI) and human brains, we quantified >7,000 proteins, revealing stage-dependent, cell-type-related remodeling of the amyloid proteome (amyloidome). Temporal profiling uncovered early immune and lysosomal activation followed by engagement of RNA processing and synaptic pathways. Cross-model and cross-species analyses determined a conserved amyloidome including APOE, MDK, PTN, and HTRA1, validated by co-localization in imaging analysis. Network analysis highlighted modules in lipid transport, vesicle organization, and autophagy. These findings establish amyloid plaques as conserved, dynamic multicellular hubs that link amyloid accumulation to downstream cellular events. Show less

The coordinated development of skeletal muscle and intramuscular adipose tissue in animals essentially determines meat yield and quality, a process co-regulated by multiple genes. Using a co-culture model of bovine skeletal muscle cells (SMCs) and intramuscular adipocytes (IMAs), integrated with transcriptomic sequencing and bioinformatic analyses, key candidate genes coregulating muscle development and fat deposition were identified. Three potential coregulators-WNT5A, APOE, and BDKRB2-were selected. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analysis, along with tissue and cellular expression profiling, indicates that WNT5A potentially interacts with key protein markers of adipogenesis and myogenesis. Furthermore, it is highly expressed in both adipose and muscle tissues. Pathway enrichment analysis revealed significant enrichment of WNT5A in the Wnt signaling pathway. These findings suggest that WNT5A plays a dual regulatory role in the development of both skeletal muscle and intramuscular fat (IMF). This finding lays a solid theoretical foundation for deciphering the molecular mechanisms of muscle-fat deposition in beef cattle and for improving meat quality. Show less

To identify latent profiles of Fear of Progression (FoP) in parents of children with cancer, explore their associated factors, and test the mediating role of Sense of Coherence (SOC) between FoP and psychological distress (PD). A cross-sectional study was conducted with 273 parents of children with cancer in China. We used latent profile analysis (LPA) to identify FoP profiles, multinomial logistic regression to determine associated factors, and mediation analysis to test the role of SOC. Three distinct FoP profiles were identified: medication sensitive with low fear (38%), treatment sensitive with moderate fear (21%), and overall high fear (41%). These profiles were significantly differentiated by disease-related (e.g., treatment history), individual-related, and interpersonal-related (e.g., self-disclosure) factors. Across the sample, higher FoP was associated with greater PD. Importantly, mediation analyses revealed that SOC significantly mediated the relationship between FoP and PD for the moderate and high FoP profiles, but not for the low LoP profile. Parents of children with cancer exhibit heterogeneous FoP profiles. SOC acts as a crucial mediator between FoP and PD, particularly for parents with moderate and high FoP profiles. These findings underscore the importance of screening for specific FoP profiles and suggest that tailored interventions designed to enhance SOC could effectively reduce PD in high-risk parents. This study employed a latent profile analysis (LPA) to identify distinct subgroups of learned helplessness among Chinese breast cancer chemotherapy patients and examined influencing factors. Through convenience sampling, 260 breast cancer chemotherapy patients aged 18-74 years from a tertiary hospital in Henan Province were recruited between May 2024 and January 2025. Data were collected using a general demographic questionnaire, the Learned Helplessness Scale, the Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire, the Social Support Rating Scale, and the General Self-Efficacy Scale. An LPA was applied to classify learned helplessness patterns, followed by a multivariate logistic regression to determine the influencing factors. The latent profile analysis revealed three distinct profiles of learned helplessness among breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy: a "low helplessness-low hopelessness stable profile" (17.0%), a "moderate helplessness-moderate hopelessness fluctuating profile" (52.0%), and a "high helplessness-high hopelessness profile" (31.0%). The multivariable logistic regression revealed that age range 18-44 years, low monthly household income per capita, fatigue, and illness perception were significantly associated with the "high helplessness-high hopelessness profile" (P < 0.05). Conversely, the age range 45-59 years was significantly associated with the "moderate helplessness-moderate hopelessness fluctuating profile" (P < 0.001). Furthermore, experiencing ≤2 chemotherapy-related side effects, a higher level of perceived social support, and greater self-efficacy were significant predictors of membership in the "low helplessness-low hopelessness profile" (P < 0.05). While VPS13C is a recessively inherited Parkinson's disease (PD) gene, its potential dominant effects in idiopathic Rapid-eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder (iRBD) remain unexplored. The relation between its monogenic form and the onset of PD suggested that subtype specificity may need to be considered. We examined the presence of likely pathogenic VPS13C variants in 150 iRBD and 180 α-synucleinopathy patients (iRBD-first and movement disorder-first). VPS13C variants were significantly enriched in iRBD patients, and ten iRBD risk variants have been identified. iRBD risk VPS13C variant carriers demonstrated more severe RBD symptoms and greater autonomic dysfunction, correlating with REM sleep EEG and autonomic network activity abnormalities. Notably, enrichment was specific to the iRBD-first α-synucleinopathy subtype, and iRBD risk VPS13C variant carriers showed accelerated progression to overt α-synucleinopathy. These results suggest that VPS13C not only contributes to iRBD susceptibility but also serves as a marker for the iRBD-first α-synucleinopathy and faster disease conversion. Show less

The OIR model revealed a decreased number of retinal astrocytes and the expression of dystrophin and R-cadherin in hyperoxic environments (P12), which was reversed after room air rearing (P17-P21), with an upward trend in RMECs (P21). In vitro hyperoxia induced significant apoptosis in astrocytes at 24 h. Moreover, the expression of angiogenesis-related factors (VEGF and ANGPTL4), vascular stabilization, and development-related factors (Laminin-β2, Dystrophin, R-cadherin) was decreased. Co-culture of astrocytes and RMECs yielded similar conclusions, with astrocyte inactivation decreasing the tube-forming capacity of RMECs. Overexpression of HIFs in astrocytes promoted the expression of VEGF, ANGPTL4, and Laminin-β2 under hyperoxic conditions. Emphatically, HIF-1α was more effective than HIF-2α in promoting the expression of integrin β1, dystrophin, and R-cadherin. Overexpression of HIFs in astrocytes reverses hyperoxia-induced retinal astrocyte inactivation and retinal vascular structural disruption and dysplasia. To evaluate the efficacy and safety of inclisiran in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia. Randomized controlled trials comparing inclisiran with a placebo were searched until April 2024. Overall, 8 studies involving 4947 patients were included. Inclisiran reduced low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (mean difference [MD]: -46.95 %; 95 % confidence interval [CI]: -53.26 to -40.46; P < 0.05), proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (MD: -70.80 %; 95 % CI: -76.52 to -65.08; P < 0.05), serum total cholesterol (MD: -29.47 %; 95 % CI: -32.56 to -26.39; P < 0.05), non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (MD: -40.46 %; 95 % CI: -45.24 to -35.68; P < 0.05), apolipoprotein B (MD: -36.77 %; 95 % CI: -40.94 to -32.61; P < 0.05), and lipoprotein(a) (MD: -20.04 %; 95 % CI: -24.2 to -15.87; P < 0.05) levels but increased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level (MD: 6.09 %; 95 % CI: 3.63 to 8.55; P < 0.05). The incidences of adverse events, serious adverse events, headache, nasopharyngitis, and muscular adverse reactions were not significantly different between the inclisiran and placebo groups. Inclisiran reduced the incidence of cardiovascular adverse reactions (odds ratio [OR] = 0.79; 95 % CI: 0.65 to 0.96; P = 0.02) and increased the incidence of injection-site reactions (OR = 4.79; 95 % CI: 2.18 to 10.52; P < 0.05). Breast cancer (BC) is among the cancers with the highest incidence rates. Although multiple therapies are available, there is an unmet need for prediction of prognoses and treatment responses. Increasing evidence has shown that lipid metabolism is important for the development of BC. The tumor-promoting role of lipid metabolism in BC has inspired us to build a model to predict prognosis and stratify patients using lipid metabolism-related genes (LMRGs) that may reflect the underlying biological mechanisms of BC. We identified a list of genes involved in lipid metabolism that were associated with the overall survival of BC. The above genes were selected by the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) method to avoid overfitting, and the stepwise Cox proportional hazards regression model was applied. The BC cohort of the Cancer Genome Atlas was divided into a training cohort and a test cohort at a ratio of 1:1. A six-gene signature, comprising APOC3, CEL, CPT1A, JAK2, NFKBIA, and PLA2G1B, was developed using the training cohort. There was a clear distinction in overall survival between low- and high-risk patients in the training cohort, the test cohort, various validation cohorts, and different clinical subgroups. Then, immune cell infiltration analysis, GO and KEGG analyses were performed. Enrichment analyses were applied to explore the possible underlying mechanisms. We also analyzed the susceptibility of patients to predefined drugs in different risk groups in an attempt to identify potential therapeutic drugs. Carnitine palmitoyl transferase 1A (CPT1A), one of the signature genes, is a key enzyme in lipid metabolism that has been related to cancer progression. Therefore, we analyzed the prognostic values of CPT1A in public cohorts and our independent BC cohort by performing immunohistochemistry. CPT1A was significantly related to overall survival in patients with BC in the cohorts. In general, the LMRG signature can predict overall survival and potential immunotherapy response in patients with BC, including triple-negative BC. The findings have highlighted the role of lipid metabolism and CPT1A in BC, showing the implications for further research, and the signature is a potential tool for prognosis prediction and may help clinicians with clinical decisions. Phenyl salicylate, an important industrial raw material, is widely used in plastics, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. However, little is known about its neurotoxicity on wildlife. Here, we exposed zebrafish embryos at 4 hours post-fertilization (hpf) to 0.025, 0.05, 0.1, 0.25, 0.5, and 1.0 mg/L of phenyl salicylate up to 144 hpf and found its developmental- and neuro-toxicity. Specifically, a dose-dependent increase in mortality and malformation in zebrafish were revealed. Phenyl salicylate also adversely affected the development of monoaminergic neurons, cerebral blood vessels, and the blood-brain barrier (BBB), as well as induced cerebral hemorrhages and locomotion change. RNA-sequencing results combined with verification data showed that phenyl salicylate downregulated the expression of the N-myc downstream regulated gene-1 (ndrg1), caused myelin damage in zebrafish, and then increased expression of beta-secretase 1 (bace1), which ultimately led to early Alzheimer's disease (AD)-like symptoms, including BBB leakage, bleeding in the brain, and upregulation of the glial fibrillary acidic protein gene (gfap) and cholinergic system-related gene (chrna7a). In conclusion, phenyl salicylate exposure triggered developmental toxicity and neurotoxicity in zebrafish, which has a potential risk for the development of AD. Given the effects of phenyl salicylate exposure to ecosystem, the safety usage limit should be treated with caution. Show less

DHX36 plays a crucial role in regulating transcriptional and post-transcriptional processes through its interaction with G-quadruplexes (G4s). The mechanisms by which DHX36 regulates G4s vary across different cell types and physiological conditions. Oocyte-specific conditional knockout (CKO) mice were utilized to study the impact of DHX36 deficiency on female fertility. The results show that the CKO mice exhibit severely impaired hormone response, ovulation, and complete infertility. The CKO germinal vesicle (GV) oocytes display large nucleoli, aberrant chromatin configuration, decreased chromatin accessibility, disturbed transcriptome, and inhibited meiosis progression. Following fertilization, the embryos derived from the CKO oocytes arrest at the zygote or 2-cell stage. Notably, we observed inadequate rRNA transcription in growing GV oocytes, as well as insufficient pre-rRNA processing and translation activity in fully-grown GV oocytes. Using a G4 probe and antibody, we found increased G4s formation at the chromatin and cytoplasm of CKO GV oocytes; these G4s mainly originate from the rDNA and pre-rRNA. Furthermore, the distribution of DHX36 was found to be spatiotemporally synchronized with that of pre-rRNA and G4s in early mouse embryos. In vitro experiments confirmed that DHX36 directly binds with pre-rRNA through the RHAU-specific motif (RSM). Overexpression of DHX36 could partially alleviate the pre-rRNA accumulation in fully-grown CKO oocytes. In conclusion, this study highlights the physiological significance of DHX36 in maintaining female fertility, underscoring its critical role in rRNA homeostasis and chromatin configuration through G4-unwinding mechanism in mouse oocytes. The development of unconventional oil and gas resources is increasingly shifting toward heterogeneous reservoirs with complex permeability distributions, making the effective control of hydraulic fracture propagation patterns critical for optimizing production. To this end, this study establishes a 3D multilayered heterogeneous reservoir model using the finite element method to analyze fracture mechanisms. The impacts of permeability heterogeneous, injection rate, and fracturing fluid viscosity on fracture morphology are systematically investigated, and the elasticity coefficient method was used to evaluate the influence weights of each parameter.The main conclusions are as follows: (1) Permeability distribution is the core factor controlling the fracture propagation direction, with HPL dominating the extension path while MPL and LPL show limited efficiency. (2) An increase in the number of permeability layers inhibits the overall expansion of cracks, and the shape of the cracks gradually changes to rectangular. (3) Higher injection rates significantly expand fracture area, whereas fracturing fluid viscosity ≥50 mPa·s stabilizes fracture morphology. (4) The elastic coefficient method identifies injection rate, permeability heterogeneous, and fracturing fluid viscosity as the key control parameters in order. This work provides theoretical guidance for optimizing hydraulic fracturing parameters in complex geological settings. Show less

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of dietary fatty acids (FA) saturation and lysophospholipids supplementation on growth, meat quality, oxidative stability, FA profiles, and lipid metabolism of finishing beef bulls. Thirty-two Angus bulls (initial body weight: 623 ± 22.6 kg; 21 ± 0.5 months of age) were used. The experiment was a completely randomized block design with a 2 × 2 factorial arrangement of treatments: 2 diets with FA of different degree of unsaturation [high saturated FA diet (HSFA) vs. high unsaturated FA diet (HUFA)] combined with (0.075%, dry matter basis) and without lysophospholipids supplementation. The bulls were fed a high-concentrate diet (forage to concentrate, 15:85) for 104 d including a 14-d adaptation period and a 90-d data and sample collection period. No interactions were observed between dietary FA and lysophospholipids supplementation for growth and meat quality parameters. A greater dietary ratio of unsaturated FA (UFA) to saturated FA (SFA) from 1:2 to 1:1 led to lower DM intake and backfat thickness, but did not affect growth performance and other carcass traits. Compared with HSFA, bulls fed HUFA had greater shear force in Longissimus thoracis (LT) muscle, but had lower intramuscular fat (IMF) content and SOD content in LT muscle. Compared with HUFA, feeding the HSFA diet up-regulated expression of ACC, FAS, PPARγ, and SCD1, but down-regulated expression of CPT1B. Compared with feeding HSFA, the HUFA diet led to greater concentrations of c9-C18:1 and other monounsaturated FA in LT muscle. Feeding HUFA also led to lower plasma concentrations of cholesterol, but there were no interactions between FA and lysophospholipids detected. Feeding lysophospholipids improved growth and feed conversion ratio and altered meat quality by increasing muscle pH Results indicated that supplementing a high-concentrate diet with lysophospholipids to beef bulls can enhance growth rate, feed efficiency, meat quality, and beneficial FA. Increasing the dietary ratio of UFA to SFA reduced DM intake and backfat thickness without compromising growth, suggesting potential improvements in feed efficiency. Show less

Fibromyalgia (FM) is a complex autoimmune disorder characterized by widespread pain and fatigue, with significant diagnostic challenges due to the absence of specific biomarkers. This study aims to identify and validate potential genetic markers for FM to facilitate earlier diagnosis and intervention. We analyzed gene expression data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with FM. Comprehensive enrichment analyses, including Gene Ontology (GO), the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), and Reactome pathways, were performed to elucidate the biological functions and disease associations of the candidate genes. We used the eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) algorithm to develop a diagnostic model, which was validated using independent datasets. Esophageal cancer (ESCA) poses a significant challenge in oncology because of the limited treatment options and poor prognosis. Therefore, enhancing the therapeutic effects of radiotherapy for ESCA and identifying relevant therapeutic targets are crucial for improving both the survival rate and quality of life of patients. To define the role of the transcription factor Snail family transcriptional repressor 1 (SNAI1) in ESCA, particularly its regulation of radiosensitivity. A comprehensive analysis of TCGA data assessed SNAI1 expression in ESCA. Survival curves correlated SNAI1 levels with radiotherapy outcomes. Colony formation assays, flow cytometry, and a xenograft model were used to evaluate tumor radiosensitivity and apoptosis. Western blot validated protein expression, while Chromatin immunoprecipitation assays examined SNAI1's role in regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). SNAI1 expression in ESCA cell lines and clinical specimens emphasizes its central role in this disease. Elevated SNAI1 expression is correlated with unfavorable outcomes in radiotherapy. Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a leading cause of cancer‑related death due to its aggressive nature and metastatic potential. The present study aimed to explore the expression of phospholipid phosphatase 2 (PPAP2C) in LUAD, and its effect on cell migration and invasion, with a particular focus on its association with the ERK/JNK signaling pathway and epithelial‑mesenchymal transition (EMT). The expression of PPAP2C in LUAD was analyzed using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas database. Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis was used to assess the correlation between PPAP2C and genes such as MAPK1, MAPK3, MAPK8, CDH1, CDH2 and SNAI1. Subsequently, the PPAP2C gene was silenced in A549 and H1299 LUAD cell lines using siRNA vectors, followed by assessments of gene expression, cell migration, invasion and protein interaction using reverse transcription‑quantitative PCR, western blotting, wound healing assay, Transwell invasion assay, molecular docking analysis, co‑immunoprecipitation and immunofluorescence staining. The results showed that PPAP2C was significantly upregulated in LUAD tissues compared with that in normal tissues. In addition, high levels of PPAP2C were significantly correlated with MAPK3, MAPK8, CDH1 and SNAI1. Notably, PPAP2C silencing significantly inhibited cell migration and invasion. Additionally, it reduced the phosphorylation levels of ERK and JNK proteins. PPAP2C showed specific binding sites with ERK1, and co‑precipitated with ERK1 in both A549 and H1299 cells. Furthermore, PPAP2C silencing decreased the expression levels of N‑cadherin and Snail, while increasing E‑cadherin expression, thereby inhibiting EMT. In conclusion, PPAP2C may be highly expressed in LUAD tissues, and could promote cell migration and invasion by activating the ERK/JNK signaling pathway and inducing EMT. These findings provide a novel potential target for the diagnosis and treatment of LUAD. Show less
