Hypertension is increasingly prevalent among middle-aged adults, but the impacts of physical activity and postures are not fully understood in middle-aged males and females, limiting targeted prevention. This study investigated associations between habitual physical activity and postures with hypertension, and whether they differ between sexes at the same age. 4416 participants (age: 46 years) in the 10th sweep of the 1970 British Cohort Study were used. Participants wore an activPAL to measure physical behaviors. Stage 2 hypertension was defined as >140/90 mmHg or antihypertensive medication use.
